Chapel Hill

Terrence DeWayne Slade was born on August 10, 1988, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to proud parents Angela Slade and Gary Woods. He peacefully transitioned from this life on November 1, 2025, at the age of 37. Terrence was the firstborn of four children and deeply loved his family. Terrence was educated in both North Carolina and Georgia, attending Grady A. Brown Elementary, Faith Harvest Christian Academy, Miller Grove Middle School, Redan High School, Job Corps Tennessee and Orange High School. At an early age, Terrence gave his life to the Lord while attending St. Matthew’s AME Church in Saxapahaw, NC. As he matured in his faith, he became a born-again believer and continued his walk with God and was a member of Faith Harvest Ministries in Burlington, NC, under his late uncle, Pastor Jerry and aunt, Evelyn Watkins. He also and attended and visited other churches in GA and NC, with the most recent being Grace outreach ministries in Mebane, NC, under Pastor Keisha Bluford.

Terrence was a bright soul with a special love for math and numbers. His heart was full of compassion, and his presence brought laughter, warmth, and joy to everyone around him. To know him was truly to love him. Growing up, he loved baseball and football, and his NFL team was the “Pittsburgh Steelers”. His favorite pastime became Playing horseshoes and fishing. He felt peaceful and happiness by the pond, often surrounded by his siblings, nephew, and friends. He was known for catching the biggest bass around. Terrence was also famous for frying up the best batch of fish anyone had ever tasted—his fish fries became a gathering everyone looked forward to getting that good fish plate and lots of laughter. He had an outgoing, humorous, and loving spirit that filled any room with joy. He loved to dress sharply, especially in a suit, whether it was for church, a family function, or a special event. Looking his best was his way of showing pride and respect for the moment.

Terrence’s love for family and friends was unmatched. He was known for the affectionate nickname “Bald Head,” a term he used for his sister and female friends that was close to him, and it always brought laughter and smiles—it was his way of saying “I love you.” Terrence traveled many places, touched countless hearts, and left an unforgettable mark wherever he went.
