Michael Jones Obituary Michael Ansara Jones departed this life on December 20, 2024. He was born in Newark, New Jersey on August 19, 1961, but moved to Chapel Hill, NC when he was a baby and was educated in the Chapel Hill school system. He always considered Chapel Hill his hometown. He moved to Durham, NC with his parents, in his early 20's and resided there for the rest of his life. Preceding him to Heavens glory were his parents Clifton Patrick Jones (father), Clarence 'Jeep' Baldwin (father), Clara Baldwin Jones (mother), and one child Ashley Faith Barbee (daughter). He leaves to cherish his memory six living children Sierra Brooks 'Nicky' (Chapel Hill), Michael C. Platt, Christopher A. Jones (Chris), Camille M. Jones (Cami), Jaylen K. Green, and Elijah M. Jones all of Durham. Two family members raised as his sons: Rashad Ross (nephew) and DeAndre A. Jones (grandson) both of Durham. Grand-daughters: Tasia Caldwell, Nadia Caldwell, Essence Henley (Chapel Hill) and Keyshaunie Platt (Raleigh, NC). Two sisters Allison Judd (Durham), Twana Jones (Butner), and one brother James Jones (Paula) of Efland, NC. His extended family: Care-taker and ex-wife Monica Barbee. Mother-in-law Margie Barbee. Father-in-law Earl Devine. His sisters and brothers in-law Anita Barbee-Reid (Ralph), Felicia D. Thornton (Severiano), Fernandez Devine, Thomas Devine (Rosiland), Reginald Devine (Vicky) and L. Lamont Ross.
