Mary Elizabeth Price

Mary Elizabeth Edwards Price was born on March 5,1940 to the late Curlin and Betty Edwards in Chapel Hill, N.C. She went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2025 at Duke Hospital, Durham, N.C.

Mary received her education from Chatham County Public School System and graduated from Horton High School in 1958. She attended Shaw University, Raleigh, NC.

Mary was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Chapel Hill, N.C. She served on the Usher Ministry, Culinary Ministry, First Aid Ministry and Missionary Ministry. She was a faithful and active member until her health declined.

Mary retired from Triem and UNC Hospitals. She also did private duty. Mary loved and enjoyed helping people. She had an infectious smile and charming demeanor. To know her, you could not help but to love her.

Mary is proceeded in death by her parents, Curlin and Betty Edwards; her husband, Charlie Price Jr.; her brother, James Clifton Edwards; her sister, Ruth Edwards and granddaughter, Jamecia Singleton.

Mary leaves to cherish her loving memories, children, one son, Sherone Price (Tandrea) of Boone, NC; three daughters, Sharion Price of Durham, NC; Lora Singleton (John) of Mebane, NC; and Dorolyn Price of Raleigh, NC. A special niece/daughter, Janet Edwards.

Her brothers, Theodore Edwards (Shirley) of Pittsboro, NC and Rufus Edwards of Durham, NC.

Her grandchildren, Monisa Davenport (Alton) of Plymouth, NC; Travis Price-Rhone (Lonnie) of Greensboro, NC; Terreyl Williams (Meghann) of Boone, NC; Darien Johnson of Raleigh, NC and Austin Price of Boone, NC.

Great Grandchildren; Phoebe & Bryson Williams of Boone, NC; Jamison & Josiah Davenport of Plymouth, NC and Michael Johnson of Raleigh, NC.

Brother-in-Laws, Johnnie Price (Janice) of Durham, NC; Henry Price of Durham, NC; Albert Price (Annette) of Chapel Hill, NC; and Jerome Robinson of Chapel Hill, NC.

Sister-in-Laws, Bernice Edwards of Chapel Hill, NC; Pearl Foushee (John) of Huntsville, Alabama; Mary Louise Mayfield of Durham, NC and Edna Titus of Durham, NC. Her close friend, Ruby Lee Burnett, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
