Louis John Bottino Sr.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Louis John Bottino, Sr, 77, of Jacksonville, North Carolina. He transitioned from life surrounded by family on April 18, 2026 at Duke University Medical Center.

He was born in Yonkers, New York, with his late twin, Norman, to the late Alphonse and Loretta Bottino.

Lou was proud to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. He served 20 years before retiring and often said “Once a Marine, always a Marine.” During his service, he bravely fought in The Vietnam War where he received three purple hearts. Lou was a strong man with strong convictions who continued to fight for what he believed was true.

Lou is survived by his wife, Sally, his son, Louis Bottino, Jr, daughter, Maureen Bottino, his brother, Anthony Bottino Sr, and sisters Lorraine Pergola, Mary Parker, Marion Bottino and Hazel Yankosky.

Funeral mass will be held in Jacksonville, NC at Infant of Prague Catholic Church on April 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
