A BLESSED LIFE WELL LIVED

"DEAREST RYAN AND YOLANDA, I LOVE YOU WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING." A WOMAN OF FAITH WHO TRULY LOVED THE LORD. SHE CALLED THOSE THINGS THAT WERE NOT AS THOUGH THEY WERE.

ROMANS 4:17

Ms. Deloris Gail Bynum Transitioned To Eternal Rest On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, At Unc Hospital In Hillsborough, North Carolina. Deloris, Affectionately Known As Lois, Was Born In Durham County And Raised In Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She Attended The Chapel Hill-Carboro City School System. Lois Attended Lincoln High School And Later Graduated From Chapel Hill High School In 1969.

Lois Was Employed At Lenora Dining Hall On The Campus Of The University Of North Carolina.

She Later Became A Certified Research Technician, Serving Faithfully Until Her Retirement. Even After Retirement, Lois Believed Her Ministry Was Not Finished. She Felt Called To Serve The Elders In Her Community And Went On To Work At The Shepard House In Carboro And Wynwood Of Chapel Hill, Where She Continued Fulfilling Her Purpose Of Caring For Others.

Deloris Was A Dedicated Servant In Her Community. She Was A Faithful Member Of Chapel Hill Community Outreach Ministry Under The Leadership Of Reverend Willis Farrington. She Also Served As Co-Director Of The St. Joseph Children's Choir, Sharing Her Love, Joy, And Enthusiasm With The Youth.

Deloris Was Preceded In Death By Her Father, Mr. Ike Moore; Her Grandfather, Mr. Lewis Edwards; Her Grandmother, Mrs. Christine Edwards; And Her Beloved Son, Master Jason Alston.

She Leaves To Cherish Her Precious Memories Her Loving Mother, Mrs. Gracie "Polly" Webb, Of The Home. She Also Leaves The Children She Shared With Her Former Husband, Mr. Charles Alston: Her Beloved Son, Mr. Ryan Alston Of Durham, North Carolina, And Her Amazing Daughter, Ms. Yolanda Alston (Charles) Of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She Adored Her Grandchildren: Chelsea Alston Of Durham, North Carolina; Chandler Alston, Serving In The United States Air Force In London, United Kingdom; And Riley Alston Of Greenville, North Carolina. Deloris Also Leaves To Cherish Her Memory Her Loving Sisters: Brenda L. Carr Of Haslet, Texas; Robin (Maxine) B. Smith Of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; And Phyllis Young Of Pittsboro, North Carolina. She Shared A Powerful Bond Of Family And Ministry With Her Brothers: Ricky R. Bynum (Shelia) Of Durham, North Carolina; Ronnie G. Bynum; Fred L. Bynum; Timmy Moore Of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Tyrone Moore; And Toni Moore Of New York.

Deloris Was Also Blessed With Extraordinary Friendships That Meant The World To Her. Two Very Special Friends Who Stood Faithfully By Her Side Were Barbara Brown And Regina Merritt. She Called Them Her Ride Or Die! Deloris Had A Personal And Unwavering Relationship With The Lord That Was Evident To All Who Knew Her. She Believed In Standing Still And Waiting To Hear From God Before She Moved. When God Spoke, She Listened. If Anyone Asked Her To Pray For Them, She Would Stop Whatever She Was Doing And Pray At That Very Moment. She Understood That When Someone Brings A Request Before The Lord, They Are Believing For God To Move.

She Was A Faithful Servant Who Lived To Do The Will Of God. Her Life Was A Testimony Of Faith, Prayer, And Obedience. Surely, God Is Well Pleased With The Life She Lived And The Purpose She Fulfilled, And Now We Believe Heaven Has Her With The Words:

"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:21 and 25:23
