Carolyn Davis Holman , daughter of the late Willie Louis Davis and Lucy Mae Davis was born on December 19, 1953, in Chapel Hill. She departed this life on Wednesday October 1, 2025.
She was a devoted and caring person. She was very generous and wore her heart on her sleeve. Carolyn’s friendship, gratitude and loyalty will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Carolyn had a deep love for indoor plants, hummingbirds, and angels. She often showcased them throughout her home. Her special passion was collecting angels, and through her strong faith, she believed the angels watched over her.
She attended and graduated from Chapel Hill High School. She later studied Early Childhood and acquired several credentials in Early Childhood Education. She was employed at Homes Daycare for many years . She taught at Victory Village Daycare Center and later, advanced into an Assistant Director position . Her compassion and love for children began early in life and allowed her to reach many children. She encouraged children to learn and grow through hands on learning and cooking experiences.
Carolyn was a member of Faith Tabernacle Oasis of Love Church. She had a strong faith and belief in God that allowed her to study God‘s word. Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” She believed that everyone would benefit from knowing God and often shared the goodness of God.
Carolyn’s memories will be cherished by her husband Samuel Holman, her son, Stacey Davis and her daughter Samoya Holman. Her grandsons; Tamares Eubanks II (Aria), Samir Holman and her granddaughter D’Nyah Farrington Her brothers; Robert Davis, Nate Davis (Peggy), Queen Oliver Davis (Sharon) Edwards Davis (Amina) and Kenneth Davis ( Truphenia). Her sisters; Willie Mae Davis, Patricia Davis Mangum, and Helen Davis Green. Her sisters in law; Debra Baldwin and Sheila Holman. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Carolyn was proceeded in death by her brother Thomas Davis (Lula) and her two brother-in-law’s George Holman Jr., Darryl Mangum, Alexander Green and Bernard Holman.
